Residents are encouraged to attend the Budget Hearings and to respond to the Preliminary Budget.  Firm decisions on the Budget will not be made until the Board listens to the community's concerns at these hearings.  Copies of the preliminary Budget will be available at the Budget Work Session and the hearings.  Reference copies will be made available in the main offices of each school and in the Manhasset Public Library.  In addition, budget information is available on the district's website at www.manhasset.k12.ny.us.

VOTER REGISTRATION PROCEDURES/INFORMATION

You are a registered voter, eligible to vote on May 20, if:

  You have previously registered and voted in a School District vote and/or a Public Library vote within the last four calendar years, or

  You have registered to vote with the County Board of Elections and have voted at least once in any local, state or national election within the last four calendar years, or

●  You have registered with the District's Board of Registration prior to the vote.  Registration takes place on school days, 9 am to 4 pm, at the Office of the District Clerk, Central Office, Manhasset Secondary School, 200 Memorial Place, and on

                            ● Thursday, May 8, 4 - 8 pm
                    
Saturday, May 10, 10 am - 2 pm

Registration on these two days will take place in the Office of Community Services.  If you are unsure of your voter registration status, please call the District Clerk, at 267-7724.

  • You can call the 1-800-FOR-VOTE hotline to request a voter application.

  • You can download a PDF version of the New York State Voter Registration Form.

  • Alternately, you can complete a PDF version of the New York State Voter Registration Form on-line by clicking on the link below, typing the necessary information and selecting the appropriate boxes. However, the file size of these forms are substantially larger than the above forms, so it may take quite a while for them to load on computers with slower Internet connections.

ABSENTEE BALLOT APPLICATIONS

Qualified registered voters can obtain applications for absentee ballots from the District Clerk, Manhasset Public Schools, 200 Memorial Place, Manhasset, NY 11030, 267-7724, at least seven (7) days before the vote if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election, if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter.  Absentee Ballot applications are available on the district's website, Click For Absentee Ballot>>  Completed absentee ballots must be received by the District Clerk no later that 5 pm, Tuesday, May 20, 2008.
